MASS Supports EXERCISE SAIF SAREEA 3
Published 30th November 2018
Defence technology and training support company, MASS, has led the Joint Warfare Support Team (JWST) and provided vital support to the UK/Oman SAIF SAREEA 3 (SS3) Exercise – the largest joint training exercise of its kind for 17 years.
The UK has a long-established defence relationship with Oman, with both nation’s forces working together in many areas. Taking place in Oman between September and November 2018, the event saw 5,500 UK personnel deployed to Oman to work alongside their Omani counterparts across Air, Land and Maritime environments.
MASS provided support to the exercise control team in four main areas; real life support to the UK forces, subject matter experts to provide operational level inputs at both military and diplomatic levels, staff support to the joint warfare exercise planning staffs and observers to assist with the post-exercise review.
The MASS support helped ensure that the exercise ran smoothly and met the required training objectives.
MASS Managing Director Chris Stanley commented
“MASS has been supplying large-scale training support for several years to a variety of military exercises in the UK and overseas, our JWST support for this exercise is a further example of the collaborative approach that exists between the UK and Oman. The team collaborated with their counterparts to establish a coherent approach to the exercise making sure the required training objectives were met.”
