Cohort Group showcases latest innovations in defence technology at Euronaval
Published 28th October 2024
Cohort plc, the independent defence technology group, is showcasing the latest innovations from its agile and responsive businesses at EURONAVAL 2024.
Located on stand D37, four of the Group’s subsidiaries - Chess Dynamics, SEA, EID and ELAC SONAR, will be demonstrating solutions to meet emerging naval defence challenges.
At the event Chess Dynamics will be unveiling a new naval fire control system, which combines state-of-the-art technology into an integrated stabilised package. The system draws upon Chess’s 30-plus years of expertise in designing high performance maritime systems. Visitors to the Cohort plc stand will be able to see models of this cutting-edge product first hand and find out how it has been designed to address the threat of small, fast, incoming targets and provide precision targeting for guns equipped with modern smart munitions.
Showcasing its Ship and Fleet protection systems, SEA will be exhibiting their leading Torpedo Launcher System and Trainable Countermeasures system, Ancilia. During the event, their team will demonstrate how Ancilia delivers effective and rapid protection against modern dynamic threats, such as hypersonic and ballistic missiles. The on-stand presentation will explore how Ancilia’s trainable nature, removes the need to manoeuvre the vessel and its relatively small size enables it to be fitted to a wide range of maritime platforms.
SEA has long-standing partnerships with many international navies, underpinned by their ability to provide technical solutions that provide a rapid response to threat. Earlier this year, they were awarded a contract for Ancillia to enhance Royal Navy’s surface ships defensive capabilities. SEA will also be exhibiting KraitSense, a flexible, scalable, modular and small footprint sonar solution that includes their industry-renowned towed array sonar, KraitArray, bolstering ASW capability for non-specialist platforms such as OPVs.
EID will be highlighting their naval products, including OCEANEX, a shipbourne C4i solution with multilevel security that ensures superior operational capabilities at sea. OCEANEX has been designed and developed to meet the evolving needs of modern naval operations and will be deployed by the Portuguese Navy in their newest MPV (multi-purpose-vessel). The EID team will be welcoming visitors to the stand to explore how OCEANEX offers a cost-effective, flexible solution for managing and controlling both internal and external communications with a high degree of automation and flexibility.
ELAC SONAR will also be at the conference, demonstrating how its Sphere Passive Surveillance and HUNTER 2.0 can offer navies protection against the latest threats below the surface. Sphere provides a holistic solution for surveillance, mine and collision avoidance, underwater communication and measurement, while HUNTER 2.0 is a hull mounted sonar offering active and passive ASW in shallow and deep waters for panoramic detection of submarines and other objects.
